It’s not you that jumps.

Understanding can take you to the waters edge. If you’ve never been in the sea before you may have a good idea of what it would be like, of how the cold salt water would feel on your skin, how it would feel to fall through the air for that short moment before breaking the surface and going under. No matter how clear the understanding is, it’s nowhere the reality of the body hitting cold sea water, heart pounding, goose pimpled skin and oh yes yes understanding is nothing. Understanding can take you to the waters edge but you’ll never jump in. ‘You’ will never jump in.

Hello Kenneth ,
Whatever apparently happened or didn’t happen, do you think anything could have happened in any other way? COuld your ‘story’ have unfolded in a different manner than the way it did? I’d like to know your personal perspective on this.
Thanks.

Hi Chitiz
Things having happened differently then they did is just another way of the mind confirming that this isn’t quite as good as it could be, it isn’t quite whole, and it could be better and that maybe it will be better tomorrow. So the energy, the contracted energy of a separate self continues in an apparent forward movement of anticipation of something better. Looking forward and looking back are the same.

If you really look into it, the thought that things could have been different is simply that- a thought. It is as it is. Complete as it is.

I’ll come back one day and do that again. Kenny, your pics are beautiful, really enjoying looking at them. I miss being a part of them (obviously for my own vain reasons) Keep up the excellent work. I especially loved the winter shots – just stunning. x
