Hearing whats said.

On the 22nd of September there was a tentative announcement to the world’s media that an experiment conducted in Italy had show that particles called ‘Neutrinos’ had traveled faster then the speed of light. The results, which have been checked and re-checked over months are now being examined by the whole scientific community, essentially in a desperate effort to prove they are wrong. If they cannot be proven wrong, then the very foundation of modern science has been blasted out from under our feet and our linear measurement and conception of what we consider ‘Reality’ is only real in it’s appearance.
Essentially the experiment is a breaking of the universal speed limit; the speed of light. This experiment cannot of ignored as easily as others, we’re not going to get away with a speeding ticket here. It destroys a fundamental principle of reality; Cause and Effect. As, Subir Sakar, Head of Particle Theory at Oxford University put it:
“Cause cannot come after effect and that is absolutely fundamental to our construction of the physical universe. If we do not have causality we are buggered.”
I’m not a scientist and there are plenty of other places on the net where you’ll find more more information about the experiment and it’s scientific implications if it’s proven. Isn’t it interesting that Sakar states that it is absolutely fundamental to “our” construction of the physical universe and that if this construction falls asunder then we’re “buggered” as he so eloquently puts it. However, if our construction of reality was always only apparently real, what would change? Would it be the case that maybe the linear and limited perception of reality as separate objects relating would fall away and life would be seen as it is, boundless and complete?
Everything is already boundless, whole and complete, the only change would be our perception. The ultimate shift in perception is out of the contracted centre that forms an artificial ‘me’, with subsequent ‘you’, ‘us’ ‘our’. Life is only knowable when there is someone separate to it to know it. As Tony Parsons puts it, ‘we live in our own knowing of ourselves’ (this may not be an exact quote and could also be attributed to others, although in actuality there is no owner of any quote). So the fear of our perception of reality being wrong is nothing other then a fear of our absence. If that reality was never real, then us as separate individual selves may not be either. So the scramble to hold onto the speed of light thesis will continue in the same way a man holds his position in an argument at the bar, to be proven wrong would be the end of him!
The speed of light isn’t the universes unwavering constant, there is nothing constant or permanent only aliveness itself. What you search for has never left you, what you search has never been anything other then this, life, not what appears to be happening in it. No future, no past, no now, no birth, no death, just this. Then it’s new, as it always was.

I helped the people from the Simon Action Group (people who avail of services from the Simon Community) to get an exhibition of their work together in time for Simon Week. It is currently showing at Galway City Library and I advise you to check it out, they chose their own projects and displayed the photos with poems and text to convey their particular message.

I really enjoyed the meeting on Saturday in Leeds. Thanks so much to David and Louise for hosting, you are on an equal footing with Deborah in this department (it’s a complicated scoring system that I won’t go into now). See you all again some time no doubt (or maybe not- freefall!!!).
Yep, this is it.

A communication that is an uncompromising and non dual, is not a personal message. It is a message that suggests (it can only ever be a suggestion) that you are already what you look for, that this, what is happening is boundless, whole and complete. This is all that is, everything and nothing and you are all that is- everything and nothing. It is a radical message that turns everything on it’s head and if really heard, can be the liberation from a false (apparent) prison of ‘me’.
Words are limited by their meaning and understanding is of no use, but the phrase ‘unconditional love’ seems to come up time and again as an expression that attempts to describe a perception which is no longer filtered through a ‘me’, a perception which no longer see’s two things-’life’ and ‘my life’- only life, only a play of light, no separate things or events or people, just life, whole, complete, boundless and unknowable. The unconditional love spoken of is not the interpersonal love between people, between lovers, friends, although the vulnerable abandon of being madly in love gives a taste of what is being suggested. It is not personal at all and in fact offers nothing what so ever to the individual person whilst at the same time seeing them as whole and complete, the perfect expression of Being, dancing.
There can be a very strong fear of this suggestion. Like a child on the first day of school, afraid of the unknown, and then… then, there’s laughing and playtime, what was there ever to fear?
